The building that used to house the local government in Betygala now is a community centre, and you can take part in an educational programme called “Road of Bread”. It is a long road, so upon arrival, guests will find dough that has already been kneaded and an oven which has already been heated up. Participants are encouraged to form loaves and then entrust them to the organisers of the programme. The bread will bake for around two hours, during the course of which guests will be taken on a tour of interesting places in Betygala. Upon returning to the centre, guests will enjoy warm bread, honey and tea. The Betygala community also bakes buns and other pastries. Contact the centre in advance on +370 61526162 or [email protected].
