The Kartena hillfort is impressive, dating back to the 8th to the 13th century. The wooden castle that were there was an important defensive and administrative centre. This educational programme introduces visitors to the unique historical and archaeological aspects of the Kartena hillfort, the ancient Curonian settlement and the history and mythology of the region.
